I just bought the wood shelter. So far so good, they kinda love it. In the past their resting place is under the hay rack, since I put the wood shelter they always hid inside. Maybe the shelter gave a secure feeling.... But I felt my cage is too small to accomodate the shelter, some more I have a very big food container. What do you guys think? My cage is 'ZooZone 1' The pics below to show the situation. #1 Cage pic from right #2 Cage pic from left #3 Stripe in action

Thats what I think also, but is a running space is really a must ? I have moved the shelter nearer to the hay rack so they have more running space. They like to climb and sit on top of the shelter, so cute.

yeah i also tik that it looks very cramp...they dun have much space to run & pop corn anymore. Maybe u dun put the shelter in the cage all the time...put it at nite only so that during the day they still have space to run...if not, then u let them out more often cos it really looks cramp.

Hi emma, I have thought of that too (take away the shelter for few hours). Actually they can still do a small pop corn inside the shelter. But sometimes when they popcorn it will hit the shelter So abit sad for them.... But I realized they seldom do popcorn, in the past they like to popcorn. Actually I was thinking of getting a bigger cage. But those big cage cost a lot.... The biggest machioro I saw cost $238, but its really huge. Maybe I should get cage&cube....

$200 is the same as wheekwheek one, I remember he told me before that his cage also quite ex. Not the small one you see in his webpage. $200 is a very big machioro cage, I saw it a Sam's Marine Parade. It is so big until can not put in a car trunk. I think you need to drive a pick up to carry the cage back to your house. Thats my dream cage They seldom popcorn even before I bought the wood shelter. In fact after I put the shelter in the cage, they did popcorn inside the shelter.

Yeah, I heard about that CnC but I cant find the material. One of the member said that we can get it from IMM, but no time to go there.
Actually I already bought a new cage for my cavy. It is the 100 Rabbit ferplast cage, dimension 100x50cm. Its a lot bigger than my old one. I have added one more cavy, and I felt that my current on is just nice for 3 of them.
So are you using CnC also? Where do you get the material from?

I'm using the ferplast bottle.. think itis quite good cos I've 2 on my cage and my GP seems to like that one beta than the other one with ball bearings (also from ferplast).. maybe you can try cos can unscrew the whole sucking thing and wash. very convenient..

Hi Shirl147 The bottle I use is Lixit bottle, it is a very good bottle. It has 2 ball bearing inside the bottle, so it is very difficult to leak. But it still depends on your cavy, because some cavies drink very messy I got 3 gp, and one gp drink very special. She will lick the bottle, and it make the 'tack tack tack' sound. Very noisy, the other 2 will put their mouth into the tip and suck the water. It is very quiet.... I got another bottle, I got it when I bought feplast cage (2nd hand). I dont know the brand of the bottle. But since I use this bottle together with the Lixit, they tends to drink from this bottle only. The ferplast bottle only have one ball bearing inside, it not as noisy as lixit.
