Arnie passed away this morning. Born on 29 October 2001, passed away on 27 July 2004. He was only 2 years and 9 months old. Last night I found him sitting in a corner, refusing to eat or drink when I refilled their bowls and bottles, while all the other pigs went crazy with the food and water. Really didn't know what to do. When I went to sleep at 5am, he remained at a corner, in a daze. Woke up at 8am, and he was already lying on his side in the same corner. Picked him up and found him still breathing, but eyes already glazed over. Sat with him for some time, cradling him in my arms, watching the beginning of gasping of breaths, of little seizures. Had to go off to the bathroom for awhile, and when I came back, he was already gone. Perhaps it was meant that I shouldn't see him take his last breath. That was 8.30am. He had been a darling for as long as he had been with me, 2 years and 5 months. And will remain so in my heart. I'm sorry everything was too late, Arnie. Be happy where you are. Hope you find all your babies who had gone over the rainbow bridge before you, Cloud, Snow, Forza, and the other stillborn babies. Your dear partner, Sugar, your kids, Rain and Speranza, and me, we'll be missing you.

How's Sperenza doing? Is it male or female?

Hi mel, I don't think Arnie's death had anything to do with the neutering.. That was done in March, more than 4 months before his death. And the wound had healed nicely, and he was fine all the while, till he suddenly stopped eating the day before.
Speranza is a male. He's fine now, except that he's kind of small size, probably because Sugar didn't have enough time to rest between her births.
Anyway thanks to all for their concern, and I apologise for not replying earlier.
