My 4 yrs old Gp is losing fur.can someone help? One side of his body is almost bald now..It's losing weight also.. Will this situation affect my other Gp? Pls help.

Better take the pig to the vet ASAP... and try to separate him from the other pigs in case it's contagious.. in the meantime, try hand feeding him Oxbow's Critical Care.. very dangerous for guinea pigs to lose weight...

Yup, better bring him to a vet... U know any? I brought 3 of my piggies to this vet for treating injuries, i find him not bad lor... Maybe u like to try if u dun have any.

Pls help. it is not a good sign for a piggy to lose weight. i suggest u bring him to a vet asap. could be mites. piggies can die within 2 2-3 days after these symptoms

Hi snowy, did u bring ur gp to the vet? is the condition improved? i know a vet that is good wif pigs too.....its Dr Ling, at Namly Place... all my piggy friends bring their pigs there for treatment.... my pig also recovered after treatment....

Hihi i didnt bring him to see a vet,bcos after a few days. the fur grow back and he seem to become a little fatter. Right now,he is healthy and jumping ard Thanks for all the concern

Think it's bad for me again... he did not seem to grow fatter after my constant monitoring........... i think i better bring him to the vet asap

Ya. I will Guess it's just due to old age.. My elder piggy passed away last yr dec.. Before he passed away, he also become thinner and less active.... I will be praying for my younger piggy..
