Just got a new pig. Seems like an aby. Havnt checked if it's a boar or sow yet. It's really small, any idea of the age?

Thanks. Wondering how long does a baby gp take to learn to drink from the h2o feeder? Mine doesn't seem to know how to do it, and i resorted to feeding by spoon.

It looks around 3 weeks old to me. My own piggies came to me at 3 weeks old, and they learned to drink from the feeder the next day...

Anyway, your piggy looks totally adorable!! Where did you get it from? Looks a little too young to have left its mom, though... Upon looking at its size compared to the spoon, I would think it might even be younger than 3 weeks...

Ya, it's really small ..... It even managed to squeeze thru the hole of the grid (from Daiso) when it was running away from me in the cage! Got it at the pet shop @ chongpang. There were two small ones, and we took one. Now looking for a companion for him/her, hopefully an as young long hair breed gp.

Well, you better take extra care of it and try to feed it up as much as possible, cos a guinea pig is kinda fragile at that size. Try oxbow's cavy performance for growing piggies, they helped my pigs grow up quite well. Maybe wait till it gets bigger before getting a companion cos most piggies shouldn't leave their moms till at least 3 or 4 wks old...

Well this little rascal doesnt seem to like eating or drinking alot. Need to feed it before it will drink water. Leave the alfalfa there also doesnt stir much enthusiasm. Funny little pig. ;D

Be patient. Maybe it's still scared? Tried timothy hay?

It's not that it's refusing to eat, just that it is not eating much, small munches every now and then. Good thing that it's getting more active and it has learnt how to drink from the bottle. ;D It certainly doesnt look or act sick at all, so i'm not too worried yet. *fingers cross*

Oh, that's ok then. Frequency is more important than the amount eaten each time. Has it gained weight? Found out its sex yet?
