Those who visit my website will know my "famous" example of the smoker. If a person is a smoker since he is 16 & he is now 60 years old. He has been smoking for more than 40 years but miraculously he hasn't gotten lung or throat cancer. Does that mean smoking is safe?
Or perhaps another e.g. If a person has been having unsafe sex with prostitutes for his whole life, does that mean what he is doing is safe? No right?
Same thing here. I feel that as long as there is medical/scientific proof that something is bad, it should be avoided. So whether it is using pine/cedar shavings or keeping cavies with rabbits, the fact is there is evidence to show these are all bad.
So why do ppl still persist & take risks? I for one will not take risks with my cavies' lives.

My e.g. is directed to those who always say "but I do it & so far they are ok". What I am saying is that as per the 2 e.g. I gave, just 'cos you "always do it" doesn't make it necessarily safe.
