hi,

u guyz may have read de newspaper yesterday on "y dogs not cats?" where cats r not allowed in hdb flats due 2 complaints fr hdb residents of dirty environment dat cats brought. hdb residents may lose their homes if found dat they have a cat in de hse. social cat welfare has made de 2nd appeal 2 hdb.

we can't afford 2 throw out our cats fr our homes. de animal shelters in spore r already over-crowded wif abandoned animals. n there's no financial aid fr de govt 4 these animals' welfare. these shelters only depend on donations n their limited number of volunteers. if we have 2 give up our cats 2 spca, these cats will b put 2 sleep if they r not adopted within a given period. n wif dis 'no cats allowed' ruling, who gonna adopt these cats?. they'll surely b given dis death sentence 4 de only crime they committed... they r created by god as a cat.

yah, this is so unfair, actually I don't think cats stink at all lor, if the owners clear their poo everyday, it shouldn't stink at all...I actually think that dogs would stink more than cats cos they need to be bathed while cats clean themselves, if the owners don't bathe the dogs, then they would be definitely more smelly than cats...
I want to appeal for them also, but dunno what to write in the mail leh...

juz point out 2 them wat kind of smelly things u found in ur hdb area: izzit de cat's poo or fr other sources. eg. i pointed out 2 them dat de only smelly things found in many hdb area r actually human urine. inconsiderate ppl like 2 pee at staircases. so, i guess u can point out wat's de obvious stinking smell in ur area.

Maybe people are supertitious and think that cats bring bad luck to them so they ban them! Anyway i have a neighbour who have 2 or 3 cats. One of their cats got smelly pee and poo so it always stay outside. I sometimes pass by the cat's poo and pee and it really stinks! Its owner use some special sand/dust to cover the poo. but recently i never saw the cat since i heard about the new hdb law.
