Hey..any of ur piggies got this before? Mine has a lump on her back. Went to Dr Ling & she said my piggy needs to be under GA to get it removed. I'm not really keen to have her under GA cos the risk is high for small animals like her. Wonder if there is an alternative treatment. cos i read under peter gurney's webby that it's easily treated without surgery: www.oginet.com/pgurney/cysts.htm

Ask Dr Ling if she feels it'll grow. If it doesn't grow, I'd just leave it. If it'll grow, remove it now. Because the longer you wait, the bigger the lump is & the riskier the op.
Also, the older the cavy is, the higher the risk too. If it dies in the process, at least it doesn't have to suffer. Imagine living with this lump on you that gets bigger & bigger each day. The first lump that Oreo had became so big it actually burst one day & there was like puss inside. Not a pleasant sight.

Well in the website that i mentioned in my 1st post, the author said, it is easily treated without surgery. So that's why i wanted to look for a vet who can do the same thing. But not many people keep piggies so did'nt have a chance to find any. Anyway, i already booked appt with Dr Ling to get it removed but the sat slot is all full so gotta wait till May. So no choice, the cyst may become worst by then
