very easy...i use johnson baby shampoo to bath my piggies.
just fill a pail with water...use a small container to pour water on them to wet their fur...then just rub their body with the shampoo & use the small container to rinse them. usually i will leave the pair with water & put them inside to rinse properly...but don't keep the water too high cos they will be scared....just keep the water around the height of their legs.

I bathe them once every 2 months 'cos that's what Melissa recommended. I prefer not using a tub 'cos one of my furballs tried drowning herself once. I use a tray with holes at the side. So the tray prevents them from running away while the holes allow water to drain out.
Use hair dryer set to low & blow about 20 cm away from them. Do NOT just towel dry. Its not enough. You don't want them catching a cold.

i don't think piggies will drown if u put them in a tub with water levels around the height of their legs. ...anyway, when u are bathing them, u'll been keeping ur eyes on them..so i think the idea of drowning is quite remote unless u leave them in the tub & went off to do something else.

The problem with a tub is that the water remains inside. If you use a shower head to rinse your cavy, its a matter of time before the water rises. And if you don't use a shower head & simply splash water from inside the tub on the cavy, I guarantee you, your cavy will not be clean. Besides, the problem is not so much the water level rising until your cavy is covered by it. You can not anticipate how cavies will react. Like I said, one of mine suddenly went nuts, flipped herself upside down & looked like she was trying to drown herself. So I would rather take preventive rather than corrective actions.

i usually put them on the floor to shampoo them & rinse the water. i don't use the showerhead. I'll use a small pail to pour water on their body to rinse their fur. After rinsing off most of the foam, i'll put them in the tub to have a final rinse. Lucky my piggies don't run away when i bath them. Anyway, my piggies have a habit of putting their 2 front paws on the side of the tub when i put them inside. Then they will just stand up & let me rinse their body.
