Hi all cavy luvers...

I'm new wit all these, the forum, as well cavies...

I'm here because i wanna check more infos on cavy for my colleague and i ended up falling in love wit them...hehehe..but i dun have any cavy...

Anyway anyone here have cavy and cats together? i have cats at home, very noti but wonder if i can keep cavy too? cos both me n hubi werk..

Oh btw, i'm Ana, 26 yrs old...tx for sharing all those wonderful things abt cavy!

hi manja...i hv 3 pigs n 4 catz living 2gether in harmony (oso wif 6 bunnies n some fighting fish...i'm addicted to fighting fish rite now). my advice...dun let ur gps out of de cage when they arrived. let ur catz n gps get used to each others' smell for 2 wks (or 1 mth if u wanna b safe) wifout cloze contact. after dat u can introduce them wifout de cage, n allow them to hv physical contact under a great n careful supervision. coz catz r playful n they may think dis new furballs r their toys. so u hv to b veri careful. dun trust them to b alone coz catz r catz. oh yes...oso get a hse for ur pigs. in case they r not used to hv staring eyes (de catz lah)...they wud hv a plc to hide. otherwise, they can get stress.

how many catz do u hv? when do u intend to get de gps?

Tx for the warm welcum...been busy and i lost my pwd..can login...arrrgghh!!! finally now not so busy to chat here...i got 2 perm cats and 2 fostered...d 2 fostered cats will be going to fly wit their owner soon to NZ in aug / sept...

I am looking for cavies now and only found in one pet shop, pet safari east point simei..selling quite ex at ard $90~$200...

So i tot to get those for rehoming ones, beta to save abandoned rates rite or those newborns by cavies owner. Maybe u guys can advise more, like where to get them n their stuff...pref ard east area..

oh also do u think i can keep them in 2ft fish tank? i got spare tanks tot can keep them, wit the stand so my cats dun keep staring at them...hehehe... ;D

their stuff...i live in de west. so, i usually go to pet essentials at bt timah or aquapetz in bt timah plaza (or izzit bt timah shopping ctr? always confused). but if i can get a free ride, i'll go all de way to serangoon nth - much cheaper there. pet safari selling quite exp.

i dun advise to house them in a fish tank. there's not enuff ventilation. my hubby once built a place for my gps - made of fibre glass n pine wood. he drilled some holes for ventilation. but in de long run, my gps had skin prob due to bad ventilation. it's better to house them in a proper cage.
