Hi again...well have you bought a cage for the piggy yet? They need a rather big cage cos they will be rather big size when they grow up. Also you need to buy pellets, hay, food bowl, bedding, vitamin C & bottle for them. You ready for the commitment yet? It's actually quite expensive to keep them.

i agree with u emmababy...for guinea pigs, puppies etc, the start-up costs are high, and the maintenance (grooming, feeding, vet fees etc) costs are even more substantial...
for hamsters which is the only pet i've experience with, the initial costs are quite ok (ard $50-100, depending on which cage u buy n where u buy the hamster from), and their maintenance is very low .... no weekly grooming etc...
i've a fren who started out with winter whites then went on to keep guinea pigs. she said that there's greater satisfaction n joy from her gps although more care is involved, cos there's 2-way interaction...gps respond to u, like dogs. so i guess the time, effort and money spent is proportional to the amount of joy u derive from your pets...dun u tink so?

yup i agree with aquitaine....think that Guinea pigs are more expensive to keep than hamsters & require more care & attention. I spent quite a lot of money on them every month cos they eat a lot! i think you need to spare around $200 for a start up cost for getting a piggy....also depends whether your piggy is expensive or not cos imported ones can be quite expensive so can adds up to several hundreds......all my pocket money ends up on my pets hee hee....

My email is malteser@singmail.com Only the $ prob.. so hoping some kind pple can let me have their baby gps.. Just curious, if money is the problem, then how are you going to maintain the daily well being of your pigs in future? Eg, the pellets, hay, vit c, vege, beddings, vet if they are sick etc.. Good luck hunting for your pig Rusty
