This entire affair has been SO frustrating and SO exasperating, I hardly know where to begin.
The recent state of oxbow cavy pellets in Singapore is probably to blame. I've been trying to buy a 10lb bag of cavy peformance for about a week now, and to no success. Nowhere seems to stock it at all. Last Sunday, Isabel of Pets Arcade said the stock was in Singapore already, just not distributed out. However, all the pet shops I went to did not have it. Fine. I waited as my stock got further depleted, while I busied myself with papers and end of term tests.
My 3 pigs ate up the last of my stock this morning. I was desperate. I called Isabel up, and she said she fortunately still had a packet of the 10lb bag left. Phew..BUT, she said it couldn't be delivered to me tom (sunday) due to van trouble or something. Fine.. I topped up my order to $30 in order to qualify for a membership discount (yes, it's my FIRST time trying to deal with Pets Arcade), and, to cut a long story short, agreed to pick it up at Clementi MRT since that was the location she suggested when I asked if I could do a pick up due to my desperate situation. Mind you, the plans for my entire family had to be compromised cos of that. I thought all was well, however, she later msged me back to say that she didn't have the key to the warehouse and that the person with the key is out of the country. WHAT THE HECK?! It says on the FAQ section of the Pets Arcade website that they even deliver on Public Holidays (not to mention their promise of agreeing to compromise for special situations) - I excused their inability to do delivery on a sunday and even compromised and agreed to meet up at their desired location and then this is what they tell me??! I am fairly suspicious as to the way they run their business.
I know lots of people have had positive experiences with Pets Arcade. Mine, unfortunately, is NOT one of them. I have tried dealing with them prior to this, but it wasn't successful - Isabel never got back to me regarding whether she could get me the 8 in 1 Flea and Tick Spray or the 8 in 1 Veggie and Nut Treat. Not only that, but the two emails I sent to them previously received no reply- i sent the mails from two different email accounts. (one was sent enquiring about the colours they had for the superpet gravity bin feeder, and the other was sent enquiring about membership). I think my experience contributes towards a huge doubt with regard to their supposed efficiency. It is not my intention to flame them or anything - I gain nothing from doing so; but as a moderator of this board, I feel inclined to let newbies know about the screw ups that could happen with online ordering.
I'll be leaving for America at the end of April for a 3 month work attachment. I thought of using Pets Arcade to deliver any products needed while I'm away, in order to save my family the trouble of going out to buy the stuff. That plan has now gone BUST.
Meanwhile, Chocolate, Cream and Caramel are still living without their Oxbow Pellets...
