Wellz.. I guess most people of secondary school age keep hamsters or rabbits.. cos those are easier to take care of and cheaper too (though I'm not entirely certain about the rabbits)... I know I wouldn't have been able to afford to keep guinea pigs prior to jc days... and I doubt most people in secondary school actually know of this forum? Haha..I can't imagine being 15... seems such a loooong time ago..

I'm 16 this year...O levels liao... Rabbits and guinea pigs cost bout the same to keep...guinea pigs eat more pellets than rabbits, rabbits eat more hay than guinea pigs cos they have to have a hay dominated diet after 6 months. Rabbits will need more space, and chew toys if not they will start chewing everything they see. They need lots of vegetables everyday. Guinea pigs need vitamin C. I guess the cost will be about the same. Initial set up depends on you...whether you wanna let the rabbit move around the house ie no need cage. But then rabbits need grooming and grooming stuff can be quite expensive esp. when their fur mats.
